Johanna P. Perez founded San Bernardino County Black Pride™ with the belief that Black LGBTQ+ People across the Inland Empire deserve more than a one a year celebration. Too often, our community is expected to fit into spaces that were not built with our culture, our experiences, or our needs at the center.

Her vision was to create a regional Pride experience rooted in visibility, wellness, culture, joy, and real community connection, a place where people can gather, celebrate, access resources, build relationships, and feel seen.

In 2025, that vision became San Bernardino County Black Pride™ and its inaugural Pride Wellness Weekend. What began as a weekend of celebration is growing into a year round commitment to community care, collaboration, and wellness centered experiences across the Inland Empire.
